Sump Bio Media

For those who have a sump what bio media are you guys using?

30 gallons of bioballs and some ceramic media made by fluval. Lol.

Lots and lots of Ceramic rings

bio balls and the sponge sheets i use for my mechanical.

300 bio balls, bio sponges, jap mat, 10L of mr aqua ceramic rings and 5L of seachem matrix for bio

IMO - mix it up. Bio-balls are great however best suited for wet/dry with aeration. Scrubbies are great both submerged and trickled over. Ceramic rings should always remain submerged along with most bio-media.

Ensure to have good sufficient mech filtration prior to the bio or else if the bio media gets clogged with debris it will not be as efficient
