Sump Bio Media

30 gallons of bioballs and some ceramic media made by fluval. Lol.
 
IMO - mix it up. Bio-balls are great however best suited for wet/dry with aeration. Scrubbies are great both submerged and trickled over. Ceramic rings should always remain submerged along with most bio-media.

Ensure to have good sufficient mech filtration prior to the bio or else if the bio media gets clogged with debris it will not be as efficient
