hi i am going to build an algae scrubber however i want some kind of sump that i can use filter floss in too to add extra filteration to my set up by utilising the return pump in the sump.
so would i be better with the drain from the tank splitting in 2, one to the pipe for the algae scrubber and the other to some basket or holder with filter wool in it . It only has to be basic as i have an fx5 full of biomedia and some carbon but i dont want to use polishing pads in it becasue they clog to quickly.
so does my sump need to be spilt into chambers or is a plastic storage container suitable for this as long as it can handle all the water the overflow will take from the tank.
any help or ideas would be appreciated i have not done a sump before .
cheers
