Sump for 40gal breeder

I have a 15gallon tank lying around and I came up with the idea to build a sump tank for my 40gal breeder. Only problem is I've never built one and really don't know how, I don't even know if 15gal would be a good sump tank. And help or thoughts? Thanks

There are those that will say don't bother because of the small size of the tank but I say go for it. There's a ton of info out there on diy sumps you just have to search for it.

yeah ill research it, and i know its small but i mean i might as well put it to use

It cant hurt and it will help you with experience in case you want to build one on a larger scale later.

The 15g will be perfect for the 40g. The sump should be around 30% of the display tank, so it is a good fit. Keep in mind that in Florida, we really don't have to use heaters so you won't have to dedicate a large space to them.
