Hey I'm 14 and I've been doing fish for like 2 years, i have an african cichlid tank with a baby albino channel cat and i want to be able to give him some room to roam, when he gets bigger (at least during the summer. So, I think im gonna make an outdoor pond of about 150 gallons. I've dug out a pond by hand before, but it ended up being jus a mosquito hole becuase it was too far from electricity to filter, and thus no fish.

I'm kinda on a like $300 dollar budget, so after the pond itself, if i go preform, will probably be near $130 for 150 gallons, or if i make my own, with everything, i'll prolly have about $200 left for a 200 gallon or so Pond. I'm looking to get it ready for as cheap and easy as possible, with as little mess as possible, so im thinking the preformed pond.

What can i do for a filter with about $100 dollars left over, that will work for a few fish?, with little experience in sump-making?

Post this in the pond section as well. Many DIY filters, and if the old pond is still up, throw some swordtails and a couple of plants in it. No more mosquitos and plenty of fry and culls for the ACs...

would 150 to 200 be enough do you think?

im thinking about maybe going nearer to 300 gallons, because now i'll have some help with it

butttt, if i only got a 200 gallon, i could make it really nice

how do i post this in DIY and Pond?
