So I did a lot of reading/searching and I decided to finnaly draw somthing up. Please tell me what you think about this design. My idea is to use the tower to get the mechanical filtration as well as the NO3 conversion then use the scrubber/fuge combo to export whats left over. I will probably line the fuge area with as much reflective material as possiable to make the best use of the light while still keeping everything modular. This will be a 75g sump going under a 156 with 2 oscars and a Royal pleco.

nothin? there is bound to be somone out there who can find somthing messed up here that I'm not see'ing  or didnt think of.

OK Err...

Why are there 2 pumps? Where does the first one go to?

And personally I would have the heater in with the pump. It would be easier to get to if it needs fixing/altering.

Plus...I guess you realise the water level in the drawing is incorrect for the height of the baffles.

build it. I want to see this project. Then you can perfect it as you go along.

The first pump is to run the algae scrubber, and good looking on that heater I will deff move that to a more acessable area. As far as the baffles being to tall they will have slots cut in them to keep the flaoting plants in the fuge.

realistically you dont need both the fuge and the scrubber. its a bit of an overkill. and id be concerned that the plants arent getting the nutrients they need with the scrubber being placed before the plants.

but, whatever works for you i guess.
Hmm I thought of that, but I figured a pair of adult oscars would put out enough waste to warrent them both. Maybe not, save some $ and just start with the fuge and only build a scrubber if it becomes nessicary.

Right on man, I'm going to start in on it this next weekend.

"The first pump is to run the algae scrubber"

Ahh OK...as indicated by the words 'algae scubber' and an arrow in your diagram.

Best get me goggles tested.

if you are going to have floating plants in there the wall before the sponge/wall/pump setup should be open on the bottom or all the plants are just going to go with the flow and plug up the top of the sponge and starve the pump..

you could also just take the bulbs out of the sump and put them above it..
