JUST PURCHASED A SETUP AND CLEANED OUT THE SUMP AND NOTICE THERE WAS A CRACK ON THE BOTTOM OF IT I CAN SEE AND FEEL THE CRACK ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ACRYLIC. I WAS GOING TO BUY A PIECE OF PLEXI GLASS AND GLUE IT TO SEAL THE CRACK. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT KIND OF GLUE TO USE. THANKS

buy some weld-on 16 and either get a syringe and put a bead over the crack or brush it over the crack. This stuff will fuse it back together. Its made for sealing acrylic via chemical bonding. If you had experience in acrylic you could always try treating it with a propane torch but that takes years of experience but does work.

no prob, I was just in the same shoes as you with a leaking acrylic sump. I would advise you to go over EVERY seam with the weld-on 16 to increase your sumps life span. They say an acrylic sump only has a life expectancy of around 5 years. Over time the chemical bonding will lose it strength and will lead to leaks through the seams. Going over the seams will just be a little extra insurance for you. Also try to let the sump dry out for around 2 weeks if possible. Acrylic can hold up to 2% water and will take about 2 weeks to fully dry. Hope this helps

My Sump cracked, and I just ran a bead of GE Silicon I over it and it held just fine.
