I purchased the eshopps WD-300CS wet/dry filter.

In the directions it stated you needed a pump with the maximum gph the same as the overflow box maximum gph.

The overflow box on the model I purchased states 1200gph so I purchased a 1200gph pump.

I just set everything up and the overflow box is not keeping up with the pump. The pump starts sucking in air and the sump doesn't refill enough to fix this issue.

I have the pump placed in the last section of the filter. I have removed all air from the tube in the overflow box. The overflow box looks like it's going hard as it can, but it isn't keeping up with the pump.

Any help be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

put a butter fly valve just after the out on the pump so yoou can adjust it its the easyiest way to balance out stuff make lil adjustments then wait and see pm if you have any issues

Appreciate the reply

Did some searching on here after posting. Weird that the directions stated to match the pump to the overflow. Kinda makes me mad as I could of spent 1/2 of what I did and just gotten a smaller pump.

I'm going to order a mag 700 and return the mag 1200 I have currently. This should solve the problem.

Thanks for the help!

you might just need a bit more water in the system see if that helps before buying a new pump

I turned off pump and let the tank overflow until it stopped. When it stopped the sump level was right at the line marked 'water level' so I don't want to put anymore water. Might be risky. I'm sure that line is there for a reason

yes but is the water level in the tank high enough for the overflow to be flowing at its max if not it will lower the water level in the sump in order to increase its flow rate to match the pumps

I use to run a gated line off the the main return line that returned to the sump. I would adjust the flow so the excess water that the pump put off would return to the sump. That way there was always water in the sump either from the main overflow or the line coming off the pump. I hope that made sense!
