Sump Help

I want to buy a sump setup for my tank and i was wondering what should my gpm be for my return pump(also how many pumps) with a 40 gal tank and 13 gal refugium/protein skimmer sump.

hey mate if it was me id look around 4x turn over per hour so for a 40g id use a 160 gph pump but rember you need sum head way in your system and have some sort of flow return restricter also if your over flow can return 160 gph there is no point running on the system at 4x per hour.

If it is salt water I would run a mag 9.5.
