Sump help

Hi i am just getting ready to start the plumbing for my sump. I went to Lowes today for supply's the guy there sold me some Oatey pipe
joint compound, I told him what it was for and it does say that it is non toxic and contains no lead. But i just wanted to double check
before i start using it. Thanks for any help.

If it's made for potable water, it's ok for fish.

If it is the white sticky Oatey Teflon paste then it is safe. I have used it extensively for fresh water plumbing in my house as well as many aquarium products. I like it a lot better than teflon tape!
