im wondering how i would make the skimmer for my tank if i wanted to make a sump

is a 10 gallon big enough for a sump for a 80 gallon
(thats all i could afford ) i have the 10 gallon tank and going to buy some pipe and make a drip plate the week

also if i do make a sump down the road how do i clean it

No its not big enough.
1/3-1/4 the size of the tank is a good fraction to shoot for.
If I were you I would build a sump out of a standard 29 gallon.

heres a drawing of my sump

change the 10 gallon to a 29

does the plan look good

what gph pump should i get

I think you should get a 30g, just gives you a better footprint, but thats up to you.

The pump will be based on how many gph you overflow can do, but for a 80g tank i would get 500-600 gph pump.

im looking around and cant find a pump

do you think my design idea is good

well i started the design for it

i got to cut the glass for it buy heres a rough idea
