hey guys n gals, would it work to hard plumb multiple external filters from a sump hole in a tank? Plan is to hard plumb a down pipe with a 90degree bend and a caped cross pipe, running under the tank. Then from this have three connectors to short hose's into three separate external filters?

would this work ok? any potential problems???

Thanks
Nathan

sump hole?

Flow.

Make the "down pipe" (over-flow or stand pipe)(it would be better to have two) large enough to flow more than what all the filters require.

Install a valve at the inlet & return of each filter for servicing. A single valve to shut all off at once for service as filters would be down to long.

Yeah its got a bottom drain at the moment. I'm thinking about boxing it in or just running a pipe to surface to drain from top instead? it seems a accident waiting to happen for me to risk a bottom drain!
who would i ask to plumb this? lfs or plumber? i dont trust myself....
filters have valves! running three fx5's and a 405....
are under rated RO units still of some benefit? i have the chance to grab one at the same time?
Thanks for your help Dr Joe! ur a star!

A straight pipe up to the surface will be noisy (gurgling).

Do you have an LFS that you trust to do the work (experienced in this sort of thing)? Some just sell fish and talk a good game.

Plumbers aren't used to using bulkheads either :(.

RO unit's value depend on your tap water quality. Poor quality water benefits by blending.

hmm tap water is ok...

Yeap my lfs is trust worthy on this front.

so how do i do it?

lol its got more room than my car...l. its work van... but it done the job...

So tank? would it be easy to seal he whole? then run externals normally?
or is my idea workable? if so how?
