sump in to pressurised pond filter

right if i dont have the room fo a big enough sump filter could you do this and would it work ok. water goes in to sump filter full of bioballs then pump the water from the sump through a large pressurised pond filter then back in to tank ive done a drawing of it

The only thing you will need to keep an eye on is if the pond filter starts to clog you will loose flow. Mag drive pumps don't produce a lot of head pressure.
