Sump noise, How loud is it?

I've been thinking more and more about doing a w/d on my 125 but it needs to remain as quiet as possible. I want to get rid of the two Biowheel 350's to make it look nice so compared to those is a sump louder or about the same?

if you have a cover and its in an enclosed stand it not too bad, but compared to a canister theres still a big sound difference

my sump was prettymuch silent till today.. the only noise was a very quiet hum from the pump (the celing fan was louder than the pump)

however i changed from the DIY overflow (1.5") and a syphon line (3/4") to a HOB overflow.... its louder than hell now.. the tank use to have a huge bioload and has changed into a planted cory tank with a rather small bioload.. im not sure what im going to do about this.. but im going to do something..

there we go.. 5 minutes of searching.. 15 minutes on the potty.. another 5 minutes with my lil saw and some pvc and i built a standpipe that fits in the HOB overflow.. the tank is once again quietish... i need to do a lil more work with the saw in the morning to get it perfect.. im prettysure that once im done the loudest noise will once again be the ceiling fan..

i want to add a sump but need guideing on how to i have one thats for 350 brandnew but never used it anyone with help ?

Thanks for the help. I guess I'll just have to give it a try and see how I like it if all else fails at least it's a project to keep me busy for a few days
