I'm upgrading my filter on my 90 I really want it to be overkill. I found a uv canister rated for 175 gallons witch is perfect. I also got the chance to buy a oceanic trickle 75 sump for pretty cheap. Witch would be better?

I think a sump would definitely be overkill on a 90, so if that's what you are looking for do it. I would stick with a couple big cans, but I am sure lots of folks here would say sump.
GL either way.

if your 90 is already drilled.... go for the sump ..... other than that... two canisters will do the trick......

My plan was to get two canisters or the sump with a heavy duty pump some where in the 1,000+ Gph range

Lando a fx5 would be cool but it's a bit out of my price range

That's the thing. A sump will cost less than the fx5's and flow as much or more.

Depending on pump selection and what the sump is made of, of course. My 210 has a 45 gallon tote $20, used mag 18 $50 and 2 7" filter socks on hangers $75. With media and pvc I spent about $200 total and am moving around 1200gph.
