Here is an email I got:

I have a nice 125 gallon glass tank with solid pine stand. The tank

I am thinking of making a deal for all equipment. How much should I pay? Also, I have searched this. What would a sump and overflow do for the 125? I am doing daily water changes with my 2 full grown oscars and 11" pictus cat because the water starts stinking. I have a fluval 405 on it, and it doesn't seem to be doing the job right. With this tank, I want to do things right so my dirty oscars don't make me clean it every day. Please tell me a bit more if you could. Thanks!

Jared

Not a bad deal You need the sump and overflow not the protien skimmer. I'd offer him no more than 400 for everything if it is in good shape

Scrub and scrub with warm water to remove all the salt.
Vinigar would work in areas you can easily rinse clean.

Sounds like a decent buy, the skimmer would do you no good but you could sell it.

Just a general good cleaning to get rid of salt residue.

Use vinegar to remove calcium deposits.

It depends on if the fish your going to keep are slat tolerant or not.

Do the cleaning outside so you can let the water run.

Send us pics if you get it.

Have fun,

Dr Joe
