I was curious about what do you need to do to set up a sump pump?How good are they compared to a canister?What experience level do I have to be at,just to get myself into this sort of thing?Will a sump pump and canister work good together?I am very curious on how good these sump pumps are for aquariums.

sumps work great, look around the DIY filters area, lots of examples of them.

ok thank you,I am quite curious about them,since I see a higher rating of gph on them then a canister,but I wouldn't mind combining a sump pump with my canister for sure.

sumps are great for hiding equipment (heaters, sponge filters, etc) and also great for the extra water volume they can hold. my 55g sump does most of my bio, while my AC110s and Fx5 do the bulk of the mech. another bonus of having a sump it that it's totally customizable to your specific desire.
