Ok here is the situation, I currently have a 55g tank in my unfinished basement. Cleaning/water changes are a headache. The tank currently houses a 7-8 inch midas that is pretty messy. I have a 50' python cleaner but have very low suction. My two closest options to hook the python up are the outdoor bib outback or the sink of the powder room on the first level. to reach the tank from either the python is pretty much streched as far as possible, both faucets are above the the basement. I'm about to get a 125g tank this weekend and I'm looking for options for easier tank maintenece.

Do you guys think it would be wise to buy a submersible sump to to empty the tank and I could use the python just to clean the gravel. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

if your filter is close to a window down there, use the filter to pump the water out.

after vac'ing my old 250, i would move the filter to the other side of the tank and then put the filter return out the window and let the fx5 or xp3 do the work. it was alot easier and faster to move a filter quick than wait for the tank to drain with a python or do the bucket brigade
