I would like to know which pump would be ok for a sump? I have a drilled 75 gallon saltwater tank with a 20 sump. I'm considering either a mag 7, or quiet one 3000?

i have a eheim 1260 on my 75 and couldnt be happier with it, dead silent and good current in the tank. its the only pump ive ever owned, but based on what i have read the eheims are the quietest.

I have a 9 month old quiet one 3000 and DON'T like it. It is quiet but the impeller will frequently not start. I have to unplug it and plug it back in a couple of times to get the impeller turning. Once the impeller starts it runs without a problem. It is also very susceptible to getting air trapped in the impeller chamber which it won't clear by itself.

I have a few quiet one pumps, one of the 4000's is going on 7 years old now and still works perfect. another 4000 was purchased used on ebay about 4-5 years ago and still pumps like new.

Compare flow/head to watts used and the quiet one line of pumps come out on top.

I have Mag Dr's. a 500gph, 2 X 1200s and an 1800. The 2 , 1200s have been running 12/7 since the mid 80s, and the 1800 since the mid 90s. The large ones are not the most quiet pumps (vibration hum), and I have replaced impellers and 1 volute, but that is a cheap fix.
I had a Quiet One for 2 years and it died, and is impossible to fix.

I got a quiet one 3000 pump on my 75G and feel its quality and flow rate is so-so at best.

What about Rio 3100 flows good and least power usage 73 Watts vs like a mag 9.5 is 93 watts. I like mine on my 125. It's quiet, has good flow. Easy to clean out when needed. Long lasting this one has been going for many years probably over 6 years old. Does not take up allot of foot space. Rio 2100 gives you the flow of about 695gph and only 37watts of power the eheim 630gph and 65 Watts almost twice the power usage. Mag 7 is 60 Watts of power. Overall I vote for. Rio with lowest power usage and just a darn good pump.
