I'm making a stingray pond. It's going to be 4'x4'x?'. If I build it off of the ground I can make it much higher than if I build it on a stand. I realize height isn't as important, but more water volume is more water volume. However, I can't seem to figure out how the sump will work if I build it off of the ground. Dual pumps i.e. one inside the pond and one in the sump is a bad idea which I simply will not do! Sadly, that is the only way I can think of making it work. I don't really feel like having one pump fail or get plugged and having hundreds of gallons dumpped onto my floor. Can anyone help me out? Is it possible to have a sump with a pond that isn't on a stand? Any links/ideas/tips will be much appreciated!
