Hi guys I plan on making a 75 gallon sump/refugium for a 300 gallon this will be my first time using a refugium. Is their a general rule for flow? Or how many times the tank should cycle an hour? Thanks

Hi Nick, dont know anything on the Refugium part but GPH will be 5x the tank volume minimum, it does depend om what you are keeping, more dirty the fish are as in pooing and waist food left then better tot have a higher GPH turnover, on my ray tank i had a 8x tank volume.
maybe some body will come along soon and help, it is quiet on here for help nowadays.

In my opinion when you get over 10 times the sump per hour you are approaching a need to be careful. At 20 times you are asking for issues. This is why closed loops were, and power heads are now, used to get the display flow up to the 20 times plus needed for corals, etc.
