Sump refugium Macro Algea light?

I don't know anything when it comes to best lighting for a marine macro algea to grow in a refugium, would it be possible with a single T5 HO bulb. Its going to be a 10g sump if that helps at all. Or would it be better to just have a intank refugium

Macro algae grows best under the same types of lights as freshwater plants, between 5000K & 10,000K. Just be sure that you have a fair amount of nutrients (Ca included) or some of them will "go sexual" and rot away in your tank.
 
That should be okay for a sump. What types of macros are you planning to have?
 
it really depends on what i can get a hold of, comming from NB Canada m selection is limited... i know they can get in grape algae (Caulerpa)
