What size of tank should I use for my 180 gallon sump? Should I use a 40 gallon breeder, or a 55?

I don't think they have 75s at the Petco dollar per gallon sale. I'm just planning on having a Jardini Arowana in the tank.
55 is fine, but bigger is always better. Check craigslist for good deals on 55s and 75s. I bought my 75 gallon sump off craigslist for only $25.
Depending on where and how your tank is set up, the sump doesn't have to go under the stand. My sump is actually next to tank, rather than under it, as my tank was already running when I switched to a sump.

I have a 55 under my 220 (6x2x2.5H). It works fine, but I wish I would have gone with a 75 or 90.
In short, 55 will work just fine, but if you can do a 75 or 90, that will be much better.
