I'm starting a DIY project and am looking for some input. I'm building a 8'x5'x2.5' plywood tank for my rtc, gator gar, and irwini cat. That's roughly 750 gallons. I'm also making a sump for it. I was going to use a 150 rubbermaid stock tank for this. My question is, is 150 gallons big enough for the sump? I'm looking to get about 7x turnover, so a little over 5000 gph. That means water will pass through the sump in about 90 seconds. Is that long enough for it to properly be filtered? For filtration I'm going to let the water fall through about 6 layers of the gray matala for mech filtration and then I'm going to have 8L of pond matrix in the sump.
