Hi, I was hoping someone could help? I have a 300ltr/80g tank that is set up for a sump. I need to know what size sump tank would be best for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated
gruntking told me it needs to be the equivalent for the top 6 inches of the tank. for example a 20 gal would need 10, he told me my 20 would be good for my 55. hopefully he will chime in and see this later because he was helping me with some very good information.
Not so much the size of the sump. It needs to be able to hold ALL of the overflow in the event of power failure, and all the bio media you can stuff in it. Bio load is a big factor in sizing.
