sump /wetdry idea

not sure how or i it would work but i will try it......

basically it would be sealed airtight so if the pump stopped working then the syphon would stop aswell.

as for the part in the tank (didn't do a pic for it) but would a single pipe in a corner through the base of the tank with slits cut into it with the top of the pipe being open causing a whirl pool effect removing rubbish from the surface of the water.

the pic is for my sump idea, with it being sealed and keeping the pressure constant would it work like a normal wet/dry ??

If you drill a .250 hole in the return pipe just above the water line in the tank it will stop the siphion when the pump stops.
 
but way go to all that when you could just do it the normal way.

also how would you seal it,clean it ?

have flow valves i could turn off to clean. top of sump would be screwed down so it would be easily removed for a weekly clean.

the return into the tank would probably be a spray bar pushing towards the intake pipe.
