hi all

I'm need a little help on my sump, I'm converting my saltwater tank back to freshwater and I've got this custom sump made to suite my saltwater tank. question is can i just this style sump to run a fresh water system?
the sump design is similar to this one,

the difference in mine is that the return section is allot smaller and and the refuge is allot bigger. could anyone suggest some ideas on how i could change this sump to suite a freshwater setup.

Yes you can Just leave out the skimmer and give it a good clean out and all should be ok

Bio balls or scrunchies.

I use cinted glass,ceramic noodles and bio-cubes that I had left over from an old sump setup

Basically anything with surface area! Depending on budget, you can go from the above stated, or army men, or bio balls.

ok looking at the design how does the water not just skim over the top of the rfuge section ?
