So I got an estimate from my pet store today and it is $850 for them to drill the hole for the sump and install it all......is it really that hard to install the sump once the hole is cut???

Installing a sump is cake if you have the right info.

buying an overflow would be wayyyyyyyyyy cheaper. or DIY overflow even less.

diy sump and overflow is the cheapest and easiest to install. mine costs 100bucks total

If you choose an overflow box. My favorite is the CPR stuff. As far as a sump just do a diy setup.

have a glass cutter do it for you and while you are there get the baffles cut you could have the hole done for prob a couple of quid hell they might do one hole for free then build it yourself.

remember if you start with a fish tank that holds water your baffles dont need to be 100 % water tight it will still work if it leaks a little
