I have a 75 gallon tank with a hob aquaclear 110 and a eheim 2215 cannister filter. i recently acquired a 3'x2'x1' tank for 20$ and i was planning on using that as a sump refugium. my filters are only 2months old and i don't want to be throwing them away and selling them would be a waste as well. so i am planning on keeping them where they are. so my question is, since i have 2 filters would a lower gph water pump be good enough? something along the lines of 200-300gph. the purpose of the sump i have was to put plants in it and increase water volume to my main tank so i can stock more fish. i was also considering breeding some mollies in the sump as well but i am not 100% if i want to proceed with that.
edit. another reason i didn't want to have 2 separate tanks is because the tank i bought was in pretty bad shape (hence the price). i have since cleaned it up pretty nice and re caulked it just in case, but there are some scratches and it isn't something i'd like to stare at constantly.
