Here is a picture of the pump, and the filter I am running on my 55 for my L200 breeding project. The pump is a Rio 10hf, and I am quite happy with it. Currently only have 1 L200 in the tank, and a lot of baby cons. The filter has a thin layer of filter floss at the bottom, 36 pot scrubbies, some lava rock from a pre-established filter, a LOT of purigen, some fluval peat granules (this new fluval peat SUCKS BAD!), and more filter floss. I have tested the system several times, and even with some back-up the filter doesn't overflow, and no problems with poweroutages either. This project total cost was $50.64. A great filter, so long as you don't mind having to look at it.

OHF basicly

The pump has a removable fish guard. It also is powerful enough to pull most items through this guard into the filter. I have plenty of filter floss. Mechanical is not hard to do.

Hey, I have one of those on my tank right now. I'm using it to seed new media for a wet/dry.

Can't beat basics can you...good job. maybe some contact paper would help if your tired of ghetto. (yeah, that's it trailer trash instead of ghetto  )

Oh, by the way, in reference to your L200 breeding project, it's in jepardy of failure.. It takes 2 to tango...

Somebody fill me in on "L200". I gather it is a catalogue number for a fish...but ummm...what does it mean. And if someone says L058, how am I suppose to make heads or tails of it? Oh and there are noobs here just like me

L200 is a green phantom, there are two Sp. of them.

High-Fin 'Bary' Baryancistrus demantoides
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=1805

and the low-fin 'Hemi' Hemiancistrus subviridis
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=223

Here's the site I use. type type L200 in the "Search all common names" section
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/index.php

If ya click the L at the top, it will give you all the L numbers. Some plecs also have LDA numbers, I think these are done by aqualog as apposed to the L#'s done by DATZ.

The L number system is for undiscribed pleco's, I believe there's 400+, some have been described, most havn't.
