Sumps vs drum filters

hi there... I was wondering if anyone has ever used a drum filter??
Also would a drum filter be a better replacement to a sump???
IMO they seem to do the same thing.........

I think everyone knows how a sump filter works...

I think it comes down to the fact that a sump can be hidden under the tank- unlike a giant drum that's just chillen there taking up space. There are also probably design factors that come into play- I bet a drum would make a super efficient wet dry-imagine the levels of scrubbies you could cram into one of those things.. uber surface area.
