Just showing off some pictures of my sun loaches, Y. Eos.
There are 3, they came mixed in with skunk loaches I ordered off of Liveaquaria.
Pics from a few days ago:

And when I first got them in December:

From what I can tell they are very rare as I can’t find much info about them or even them being sold. Love to see pics if anyone else has them:

Check out loaches online at loaches.com. Some good info there.
I have a group of 5 which came in originally as modesta but could tell by the markings they were not. Now probably 4” maxed size they have a much bluer body now and redder fins than their original grey and yellow, but still have the black spot at the base of the tail although it has faded with age.
I think they are not rare, but like tiger botai, carry a bad reputation so not sold as often. Can be quite nippy in a more community setting and mine used to harass my skunk, clown and redfin botai something terrible. Hence there new home although 90% of the time you wouldn’t know they were there.

I though give them a tank with plenty of hiding places and I would see them more........ no way!!!
This is me taking a photo after ten minutes waiting on full zoom from 8ft away hiding round a corner!

still only a dash from one hideout to the next.
this tank is high on my list to re-decorate and try with taller scape and some plants, although another warning, I find they do nip at plants too a little.

Thanks for the info!
I have definitely found them to be meaner than my skunks, harassing them. They stay hidden 90% of the time though, so aggression is quite limited. They only show up at feeding time. Their tank was originally for mbunas, so lots of crevices for them to hide in.
I’ll keep that in mind with the plants. They are in a planted tank right now. No damage yet but I’ll keep an eye out.
