This is a fund raiser for a local fish club that typically brings in hundreds of items for auction.

There will be fish (some very rare), live plants, tanks, stands, equipment, books, live foods, just about everything comes across the auction block. All items are brought in by members, but you don't need to be a member to buy stuff. Show up about 6PM to check out the things on the block.

If you want to sell stuff, you can to that by becoming a member when you get there. You get 75% of the selling price, the club takes 25%. Auction forms are here:

Anyway, the auction is usually interesting, and you can get some pretty good deals. It's worth checking out.

Details:

Auction is in room 101 Casa del Prado in San Diego's Balboa Park. The building is on the corner directly across from the Natural History Museum. The best way to get here is to come in from Park Boulevard on Village Place, which is the first street off Park Bouleverd north of the Reuben Fleet Space Museum. Park either to the right or left as you come in, and head towards the fountain at the Reuben Fleet Museum. The Natural History Museum will be on your right. Go to the other side of that museum, cross the street and you will be at the Casa del Prado.
