Sunfish breeding

didn't think anything would come of my male longear building a nest but i caught them spawning and now I have eggs.

dont have a tank for them but what should i expect in the coming days? like how long till they hatch and is there any possibility of them serving in my well planted tank.?

Congrats! Never heard of them spawning in a home aquarium, they are very happy. Personally I would log down parameters. Btw beautiful longear.

I've had several spawning cycles amongst some bluegill in my 150. Unfortunately none have hatched...or the eggs didn't survive long enough to hatch. Seems like after the male builds the nest and they spawn he'll lose interest in the nest. Can't tell if the eggs get covered in debris or if someone is sneaking into the nest and eating them.
