Most all eclipse cats are like this. It’ll active after the lights are out.

He’s got a fat tummy! I changed their feeding to pm, so he can mop up the scraps!

Should have done research hiding catfish vs out and about catfish...

I have a sun catfish that I have not seen for weeks sometimes I wonder if it is still alive I do have a network of caves in the tank. I do the same feed at night when lights out.

If you want an active catfish that will be out during the day then get a hoplo catfish, mine is active all day in all levels of the tank, the bottom of the tank is actually where he spends the least amount of time.

Also this all the way, Hoplos are great and will nuzzle everything in the tank
