Sunfish Id please

I don't know sunfish other than bass very well and i caught this guy today and was wondering Id, my long shot guess was green in breeding colors but i honestly have no idea. Experienced memebers or experts opinions prefered, not just throwing it out there posts...

i agree, although at first i thought it was a longear

I used to catch these guys every now and then. They have mouthes like bass almost. Kinda confusing when you see the mouth and the dot.

nice one. looks realy SLIMY! what did you catch it on and how was the fight compared to a Bluegill?

just a nightcrawler, he was accually a suprisingly strong fighter, i had 15"ish trout out of the same area and i thought i had another when this guy came up.
