Sunfish Legality

I've seen some Sunfish being shipped in with small feeder goldfish at a lfs occassionally. Are these legal to keep? How big do they get? How fast do they grow?

they are legal.they maybe get to 6"-11"

Depends on where you live. Here in Fl, you must aquire them legally (and sellign game fish is a no-no) and you have to have a fishing license, and whatever is in your tank counts against your daily limit.

Contact your regional Game & Fish office (or Wildlife or whatever they call themselves in Cali) and ask.

Sorry, i forgot to mention that you do need a permit. We had to okay it with the Department of Natural Resources as well. I misunderstood the question.

I live in san diego and was actually trying to purchase some of these on here and found out that they are legal!
