I have a couple male Sunfish which look to be Longears, tonight I caught a female sunfish full of eggs.

My questions are:

Do the males fertilize the eggs after they are laid or do they do it like mammals?

I would also like to know if they fertilize the eggs like mammals and I add her to my tank with the males (who both have nests) will she lay in their nests or......?

Sunfish are much like cichlids, the male builds/digs a nest and entices the female in. She lays eggs in the nest which the male fertilizes after she puts them down.
After the eggs are laid the males chases her away and guards the nest.
Be careful, all your males will be trying to get her attention which will cause aggression and fighting.

The two chase each other a little already, but nothing too bad. I introduced her today since she is about to blow up and my one male is so excited, hes doing flips and circles and acting like a horny teenager LOL. My other male is very very mellow, he is just hanging out, not too enthusiastic about the matter. She approached the one male who was doing his crazy dance and I thought they were gonna do the deed but it didnt happen. I may have to set up another aquarium for my smaller male and just keep the one male and female in the bigger tank.
