I am wondering what Lamp. Helianthus "sunset brichardi" look like. Some one is selling a mating group of 5 for $50. I could not find any useful pictures on the web.
Here are a few of my Helianthus when i had them and i just recently traded them in but be ready for a fish that is super aggressive. my experience is that they are better off by themselves in a community or a group of them in a species only tank..
Often people will use "Lamp" when the name is Neolamprologus. The " " refers that it is not truly whatever is in the parentheses, but is waiting to be reclassified to something related to it. Names are always changing. Then of course some people like to shorten things.
They will Kill everything!! Helianthus is a gorgeous fish but even altos can't hang long term. Long ago I was sold a male helianthus as a daffodil brichardi. My intention was to integrate it into my community tank where I had Brichardi (females) and Alto's (A trio) and also a very large tetracanthus. in three days the tetracanthus (5 Inches) lay lifeless on the sand with no pec fins or tail and no eyes!! Next to go was a WC female calvus who's side he chewed through as she tried to fend him off with armor. He also killed a Goby cichlid before I moved him into "timeout" in the freezer!! He was quite peaceful in there. Yeah $10 is a good price mine cost me $20. Just keep in mind that by the time I finally cooled him out he really cost me about $100.
