On 8/15/16 I got a new 13" l14 $180 add to my 300gallon tank and now 8/20/16 my old 11" l14 killed him The old l14 started attacking my new l14 on the 8/19/16 so when I got home from work I separated the new one but it was to late. How come my other fish are ok? And what can I do so this won't happen again? image.jpeg

the geos in the tank are not a threat as far as your pleco is concerned. Plecos mostly go after other plecos and could care less about other fish

Sorry to hear that. I've read here that plecos fight and kill each other and I honestly had no idea. I thought these fish were harmless.

My 5" L14 punks on every other pleco in my tank, they just don't tolerate competition.

What a bummer. I've never seen a pleco actually kill another Pleco...only once did I have a Pleco suck on another one that so much it died from a secondary infection. Unfortunately, these larger plecos get territorial, especially with new additions. If you try to add more plecos, next time possibly add more driftwood or caves and add 2 or 3 fish so one doesn't get singled out. L14 is by far my favorite Pleco, beautiful fish
