i have a sunsun 302 running on my 30gallon with an undergravel filter until i setup my 55 gallon with just the canister. it came with one bag of ceramic rings and a bag of black short noodles about as thick as spaghetti. what is the black noodle stuff?
it also had one white pad in each of the three trays.
i have it from the bottom tray up
bag of ceramic rings then the pad on top
middle tray is empty with the white pad
top tray is the black noodle looking things in a bag with the pad on top
i got the idea that the pads should be under the media or does it matter.
my plan is to fill the middle and bottom with ceramic rings and do sponges in the top tray.
this is going to be an african cichlid setup
