SunSun 404B as sole filter for 75g

Hello everyone!

I was looking at converting my current filtration setup from HOB to canister.

My current setup is a 75g aquarium with 2 aquaclear 110, with a gulper catfish and synodontis as the only inhabitants. I was looking at converting to the SunSun 404B. According to the internet it's been rated for "150g", obviously most times a filter is rated for X but it only does Y. I was wondering if anyone had experience using these? I understand that Fluval FX series is basically top of the line, but I was wondering if the SunSun held some kind of candle, at least in the case of being used as the sole filter for a 75g

Mine arrrives tomorrow......I will let you know. I am using it to supplement my FX5 on my 120 gallon. Gonna fill with floss and polsih my water......Hopefully. Love the UV included.....

Surprised that gulper hasn’t eaten ur synodontis catfish.

Filter should work fine. Cheap and flimsy but gets the job done at a lower cost. Have one and happy with it.

He doesn't seem to like live fish very much, it's almost like he grew out of that "phase" lol. Also the syno is about 6" and the gulper is about 6.5/7. While I know thag doesn't sound oike a safe number, atm he's only used to eating shrimp, tilapia fillet, and the occasional chicken heart.

Do you think a sun sun alone is enough for the tank? Im seeing mixed reviews on Amazon regarding its efficiency.

If your ammonia and nitrites are 0ppm everyday, then it's doing it's job.

In general I’d say it’s tank size rating is for half the tank. If u get two then yes.

O i haven't gotten it yet. I was considering the swirxh, but wanted some first hand info here first.
