Hello, everyone. My first serious post on the site, here.

I'm going to build a 14x14x14 tank. This is about 12 gallons.

I hate the tons of types of silicone for sale at the Home Depot, can someone recommend a safe brand and type?

I plan to plumb it all, so there is NOTHING AT ALL hanging off the sides of it.

I want the filter input in the bottom of the tank, through a drilled hole to a canister.

The output will also be in the bottom, through one or more loc lines.

Here's the big question: I need a mighty filter for this. I want to do all my own plumbing, and need a filter that won't let me down.

Those of you with huge tanks will immediately think of the Ocean Clears.

I want to run this thing off an Ocean Clear 340, which can cover HUGE tanks. However, since it runs at whatever speed the pump you attach to it runs at, it could run at a manageable 100 gph, or even less.

So? Can it be done? Run a huge filter, at low speed, to keep a small tank in tip-top shape? And if so, can someone recommend a good pump for this scale project? I would be running it through an in-line heater and CO2 diffuser, with about 3 feet of head.

Thanks in advance for the ideas,
Wes

Not sure what's really on your mind, but I'd get an Eheim 2213 and call it a day ...
