top pics are what i bought 3-5 months ago ... bottom pics are what i have today ?!?!?!?!?
they washed out pretty much overnight and have been this way for a few weeks.
nothing is different about the tank. water parameters are spot on.
they eat and act normal (as do the other discus in the tank) and are growing normally

they are quality fish from a very well respected breeder, and the vendor says all the others from this batch have done the same thing

anything i can do?
or is this just the risk you run when you buy any pigeonblood based strain ?!?

both are 4-5" in the first pics and about 5 1/2" now.

thats how it is with white butter fly/scorpians they get whiter as they grow. i recently bought one that has VERY little pattern near the tail thats slowly fading. theres really nothing you can do about it. if you like the pattern try buying a super checkerbard pigeon. i have a spotted pigeon at around 6" and it still full of pattern

edit -- it was sold as a "Carnation Pigeon" if that makes any difference. i know they call them all 1000 different things

:irked::nilly::irked:frustrating :irked::nilly::irked:

they are still nice looking fish, dont get me wrong, but not what i wanted for my tank obviously

wanna try see if its old pattern would come back after being in my tank? i don't believe there's anything better that you could try besides doing that. I promise i'd give it back to you once the pattern returned :)

once the pattern is gone its cone it doesnt come back. you could try a super checker board pigeon it has a similar pattern and doesnt fade

i guess not lol

???? not sure what the question meant ???

option 1--- are wild discus found in a forrest?
i guess, but i think forrests in south america are more like jungles ?!?!?

option 2--- are they from a seller or breeder "forrest"?
no
