For the past few weeks, my fire eel has been very hungry. He used to only beg for food ever couple days or so. I'd feed him worms until he was full.

Now, he's beggging for food multiple times a day. He starts begging for food every few hours. he eats 3-4 worms every time. He keeps begging until he is full, then retreats back to his house. after a few hours, he comes back out, starts begging, and doing the same.

I've indulged him so far, and he's gotten very very fat. He is at least twice as thick as he normally is. Should I continue giving him multiple feedings a day, or cut back?

My eel will beg for days. That's just their character...actually all my fish do this. Just use your judgement and be careful not to overfeed.

mine would go threw this... then fast for a month or more only taking small meals now and then during this time. imo, feed him if he's hungry. Now that you mention it my M dayi have been piggying out the past week or so. and every spring my spineys all seem to go threw this, some times it was earlier some years it was later.. but usually between Feb and April. imo the biggest thing to worry about is your filtration, prolly wouldn't hurt to do a few extra water changes during this time as well to keep your water quality up.

yeah i know what u mean my M dayi is eating like a pig...
