So I generally pride myself in knowing serrasalmidae pretty well, so imagine my surprise when I discover a new pacu species this morning!
Now this is not seen anywhere in scientific literature but instead on a post I found here this morning, detailing a fish that would get to 9+ feet and eats aquarium silicone! Naturally, I was intrigued by this and looked it up, finding images of the monkey from Pirates of the Caribbean.
So now I ask, what the heck is this fish? I dare not bring the op in - I’d much rather one of the “civilized and on topic discussions” we are so prone to having here.
My money is that this is a tetra an 8 year old got and is convinced it’s the biggest monster out there, but I really am curious to see if there is any fish that even slightly matches the description.

Gotta admit, when I saw the thread title I thought that the fish in question was some kind of newly created flower horn variant, the people behind those fish can come with some really colorfully outlandish names....that said,I can't wait to see what this fish turns out to be.

Deadeye Deadeye Yeah I saw the same, and did the same, got the same results.
I gave up pretty quickly though and chalked it up as some new spin in naming for an already existing species. But when I saw this thread I couldn’t pass it by without a look.
