Super red Pacu?!

Hey guys, I did not know pacus with such a red colour existed!

Have you seen them before?


These images were snippets from a show I watch on Netflix called Meat Eater. The pacus seen here were from a river inGuyana. They were being fished for food in the show, hence the arrow

looks like some sort of a myleus species of silver dollar.

Still apparently not available in the pet trade right now, they only appear to occur in a small stretch of a single river

WOLF2013 hmm, do they get that red though? They did say Pacu in the show :/

Deadliestviper7 oh I didn't know, but it makes sense, I have never seen them in the hobby before. The native in the show did mention the Pacu are only found in that stretch of the river

It could be a species of Tometes. Also called pacu borracha.
