Don't wanna do this but gotta make room for my growouts. Here's my prized super red pair (m/f). Male is about 6", female is about 4.5-5". Both on pellets, flake, shrimp, algae wafers, earth worms and blood worms... You can say, well fed haha. I have seen eggs twice before, but my catfish eat them before I can get them, I haven't had any fry yet. These are the best cichlids iv kept, you will be very happy with them. Asking $150 for the pair, since they have laid eggs and are able to have babies. Please text/PM any time 7757721331. Gotta sell this week, I'll be gone all next week. Pick up only, riverside area. Thanks for looking!!

Has the pair hatched before? Prove me wrong but I have heard that super reds are not fertile (not trying to be a smart-ass here but for a high price buyer should know for sure if they are fertile).

As stated before, I haven't had any free swimmers yet, due to a greedy pictus cat that gets them within the first week. This question has popped up before, and normally when they're infertile the eggs die within the first couple days and turn white. These guys have had what looked to be fertilized eggs, due too the color was orange/yellowish color and what looked like eyes(black specks). If i knew 100% that they we're infertile, they would be posted for much cheaper, but until then the price is a little higher. There are some cases that the infertility statement is true, but in this case I think they are true breeders. Thanks for your question

I also have heard that male super reds are sterile to semi-sterile, that while they are younger you have your best chance of getting live fry and as they get older their sperm gets less and less viable with each month often creating eggs that are initially alive but unable to hatch due to the male's quickly degrading sperm viability. I do not have any proof of this and this sellers fish MAY be perfectly fertile. There is only one way to tell for sure. BREED THEM! (Even if the male is shooting blanks, they are gorgeous fish and worth the cash)

Thank you for your kind words. These guys, especially the male, are such high quality fish. the female is a little more pale, but as you guys can see, the male is completely red.
