My 22" silver arowana is showing a lot of red on it's scales. It is really red showing at about a quarter of each individual scale. What could this mean? Is it normal? I've had silver aros before but it's the first time I saw this. I'll take pics soon.

well seems like a trend thread posted yesterday and i purchased one with the scales with about 1/3 red tint and 1/3 blue tint and 1/3 silver. i posted a thread and was told very normal for silver. after researching it is normal but all the silvers ive seen dont even come close to brightness of mine. i think some selective breeding for a more red color. was also told this will fade. added krill to diet and has only gotten brighter

Difference is that mine is not a juvenile, I know it's prevalent in juveniles to have a lot of red etc, but mine is quite mature. And I can say it's intense.

pictures of red base aro on aquabid also juvenile and as far as mine over 12" and much more red then silvers of same size in next tank over
