That's disgusting.
It was bad enough to warp goldfish into the freaks they are nowadays. Leave the bichirs alone. They were perfected millions of years ago, why do people feel the need to destroy that?

...i know someone who collects short body fish from groups of normal healthy fish..
why go about freaking out when you have no clue how he got this fish?....SB fish just pop up in groups of healthy normal fish from time to time...I have a SB paradise fish.
Is like walking down the street and seeing a midge and going EEWWW that's so gross!!!!!!..or all the messed up dogs for that mater.
What does mater is that the fish is taken care of properly...no mater how " disgusting" you think it is.

Ummmm...I wasn't freaking out. He asked what we thought, I let him know what I thought. Fish like that don't tend to appear normally. And any breeder worthy of the name would cull such a fish. It wasn't that long ago when culling defective fish was normal practice. Then breeders realized people would actually pay more money for a deformed fish than they would a healthy one. It's a sad practice as far as I am concerned.
