I never see my rhom because i have plenty of hiding room in there for him. He is only about six inches right now. I know they become less shy after they get bigger. Would it be a mistake to have less hiding room in the tank and force this fish out into the open. the lights are quite bright due to some plants i'm trying to grow. I don't want to over stress him, but i would like to see my awesome fish every now and again. YOu can't blame a guy for that RIght?

there's nothing wrong with wanting to see your fish, ha. how long have you had him?

Does he come out at all when your in the room?

just sit back in the dark and wait to see him. thats how my pike is.

i would say go with less hiding spots.. i know it seems a bit mean but my irritans hides all day in my planted tank and when he was moved and has nowhere to hide he became very outgoing.. finger chaser magnet chaser and very active..

go with no hiding spot....gravel and plants only.. dimmed your light and spend more time in front of your tank so he get use to that. keep your temp 84f..or so. high temp with make him active and eat more.
